What do we do?
Sodexo has partnered with the Associate Student Environmental Committee, Waste Management Committee, Watershed Institute, Monterey County Farm to School Partnership and Farm to College along with various students, staff and faculty members. Why, to better understand the difference that Food Service can make for Social and Environmental justice within the services we provide for California State University Monterey Bay. Wouldn't you like to support an organization that provides the following?
- Organic Foods
- Local Fair Trade Organic Coffees
- Seafood Watch (Updates and Purchasing Compliance)
- Supporting Local Businesses
- Bio-Plastics (To-Go Containers, Cups, Lids and Utensils)
- Paper and Bagasse products (paper plates, bowls, dioxin free paper towels and napkins)
- 0 Trans Fat Fryer Oil (80 Ð 20 mix of Vegetable and Soy oil)
- Reusable Vegetable Oil (Vegetable fuel)
- Composting (Ongoing efforts)
We're doing it and with your support we are setting a trend and making a difference for the environment and reducing harmful chemical usage by providers for food, paper and packaging products. We have sought out and developed a partnership with many local and eco friendly vendors.
